Love Reading – Bee Yourself book review

I recently had the pleasure of receiving an endearing children’s book called Bee Yourself from a group of talented University students who go by the name of Navy Holdings. I am grateful to have the opportunity to review this lovely book and be able to share it with all of you.

Who is Navy Holdings?

Navy Holdings is a Business School Young Enterprise Group from Manchester Metropolitan University. Navy Holdings believe having self-confidence is as difficult as ever in todays society, and finding acceptance is crucial during a child’s upbringing.

Bee YourselfBee Yourself is an aspiring children’s book aiming to celebrate diversity and underline the importance of acceptance from a young age. The aim of this very special book is to not only provide children with the understanding that people are different to one another, but to bestow the idea that it is okay to be different and encourage self-confidence with any differences a child may feel they have.

Bee Yourself follows the journey of Barney the Bee on his mission to find his stripes. Barney the bee was inspired by the symbol of the ‘Manchester Bee’.

The story starts with Barney the bee who lives with his family at the hive realising that he is a little different than the other bees, Barney doesn’t have any stripes. Barney begins to feel different than the other bees and decides to go a journey to find other stripe-less bees. Along the way Barney meets a variety of wonderful and unique characters who help him on his journey of self discovery. The book teaches children a beautiful lesson that we are all special in our own way and all belong.

Love surprises – Tiddly Box product review

Here at Love Early Education we recently received a lovely gift from Tiddly Box.

Tiddly Box provides a monthly subscription box containing handpicked products aimed at children 0-4 years. Each Tiddly Box contains a variety of 3 – 5 products based on your child’s age range. When ordering a Tiddly Box you can specify the age group from a choice of four. For example Luke’s age group was 3-4 years old. Other options include choosing whether the box is made with a girl or a boy in mind but there is also the option for a surprise so you do not have to choose a gender. Although we chose a gender, the products are gender neutral so I don’t feel this option is particularly needed . I prefer products that aren’t stereotypically aimed at particular gender, so I was pleased in this respect.

Tiddly Box doesn’t charge postage and is currently available in UK only. Tiddly Box fits through your letterbox so there is no staying in waiting for delivery or having to pick it up from your local depot at a later date like some subscription boxes on the market.

What we received

In our Tiddly Box aimed at a boy aged 3-4 years we received:

A pocket play sticker book (RRP £8.99)

A ladybird Peppa Pig Book (RRP £4)

A Early Learning Centre threading card and lace (8 pack details around £6 so RRP each around 75p)

Two Kiddylicious coconut roll snacks (8 pack around £2.50 so RRP each around 30p)

Two twinnings teas (RRP each around 25p)

Also two animal puzzles which I couldn’t price.

The price of a monthly subscription is £14.99 including postage and packaging. If you choose to subscribe for 3 or 6 months this price does reduce to £13.99 or £12.99.

When we received the box Luke was very excited and couldn’t wait to open it and see what was inside. He was thrilled to receive a Peppa Pig Book as he loves Peppa and enjoyed the Peppa plays football story.

We read our Peppa book while enjoying our Kiddylicious snacks, which were not something we would usually buy but would consider buying in future as they were delicious (I should know I tried them). There was also a treat for me in the form of some tasty Twinnings teas to try.

Tiddly Box provides a variety of items which varies month to month, this includes products which could be considered:

Fun : To keep your tiddly ones entertained

Educational: To help with children’s development

Essential: To make life easier

Engaging: To discover new brands and products

Plus a treat for the adults:

Tea: As every parent needs a cuppa.

Tiddly Box definitely provides products that were fun, engaging and educational with an exciting sticker book, some lovely animal puzzles and a threading card and lace which supported fine motor skills development.

Tiddly Box can be purchased as a monthly subscription or as a one off gift. The box is beautifully packaged and offers a range of products that engage and entertain children and are aimed well at their designed age range. Take a look at their website and choose the right box for you:

Love nature – Grow Curious product review

Recently, here at Love Early Education we have been fortunate enough to receive some truly fantastic products from some amazing companies. One of these very special gifts was a Grow Curious box.

Grow Curious is a company ran by a wonderful husband and wife team; Joe and Jenny, whom are based in Snowdonia.

As well as being busy with their truly unique and wonderful company, they are kept busy by 3 children (with one more on the way), 25 chickens, 2 ducks and 2 goats! The company’s aim is to help children and families reconnect with nature and help them to make beautiful memories outside in nature.

Grow Curious aims to provide products that are eco-friendly, sustainable, organic and/or recycled.

When ordering from Grow Curious you are promised 5 full sized products that will provide you with things to grow, fun activities to do and beautiful books to share and they certainly delivered.

What we received

A beautiful book – A Nest is Noisy by Dianne Hutts Aston and Sylvia Long

Something to grow – Sunflower seeds

Activities to do –

Organic egg dye

Nature Bingo

We also received a Grow Curious Zine about Nests; Bird Nesting material and holder (British wool fleece and a coated steel holder) to hang on a tree in your garden and even a lovely bird bookmark for our book.

Even the box filling was fantastic to use as a tuff tray resource.

What we thought

We don’t need much encouraging to get out doors here at Love Early Education but this still gave us a fantastic excuse to get outside. Luke enjoyed going outside to hang our Nesting material holding in the tree, once we talked about what it was and why we were hanging it, Luke asked could we go and get his binoculars and look for the birds who come to make there nest.

We loved ‘A nest is noisy’ – it was educational, interesting and beautiful.

Our Grow Curious box gave us the opportunity to do some planting and now we get to go and water our Sunflower everyday and see if it has grown.

We even got to dye eggs with our organic egg dye. I think I was more excited about this as I have wanted to do this for so long!

Needless to say we were impressed. This product has really stood out for us and is definitely something we would subscribe to in future. It is good value for money; it is a quality product and gives you a fantastic excuse to reconnect with nature and for little ones to learn something new.

Grow Curious has been kind enough to offer all Love Early Education followers and their friends 10% their products with this special discount code:
